The Energy & Environmental Issues CD-ROM has six learning sites where viewers can interact with computer animations, simulations, and video clips to discover facts about energy. Explore the impact of energy production on the environment by getting involved in debates about renewable and non-renewable energy sources. You can tour a waste-to-energy energy plant, discover the science and inner workings of equipment that produces heat and power, and conduct virtual experiments and energy audits. From the slide show maker, you can access more than 350 photographs and produce your own custom-made presentations on energy and the environment. From any of the learning sites, you can click on challenging vocabulary terms and energy concepts that are linked to definitions and illustrations in a glossary with over 200 terms. You can also select and print ideas for research projects, experiments, and activities from any of the four energy education programs developed for the middle grades by the Energy & Environmental Alliance.
